greyworld

greyworld are a group of artists who create public art, usually in urban areas.
They focus on allowing creative expression in areas which usually exclude it.

greyworld created the installation in the London Stock Exchange building. 'The Source' consists of 162 cables which reach 8 stories and 9 balls are attached to each cable. The balls move independently to the cable moving up and down its length. The balls movement signals the beginning of trading at the start of the day and the end of trading in the evening.

I'm looking at this to see the use of movement and also the element of interaction the installation has, the input of data from the stock exchange effect the behavior of the balls, indicating to onlookers the state of the market.
